Accountable Government
Good government is accountable, transparent, and informed by the lived experiences of the people. But when government fails at these measures, public trust is eroded, creating a cycle of civic disengagement. More than ever, we need to rebuild trust with our community so that we can work together for the common good. Tina aims to be a champion of good governance reforms that take money out of politics by establishing publicly-funded elections and ending pay-to-play donations.
Tina is passionate about ensuring that community members can engage effectively at the Capitol. She taught undergraduate and early-college classes in Political Science at UH Mānoa and Roosevelt High School. In 2022, she worked to co-lead a Bill-Writing Bootcamp to translate community expertise into legislative measures. If elected, Tina pledges to be communicative, accessible, and direct.
