Affordability

Every day, it gets harder for working families to survive in Hawai’i as we face rising costs on everything from rent, and groceries, to property insurance, and healthcare. But we can build a sustainable local economy that serves the needs of working families.
To confront the current affordability crisis, Tina champions policies that 1) invest in the resilience of our local food and infrastructure systems, 2) support small business and make corporations pay their fair share, 3) strengthen the rights of the workers who are the backbone of our local economy, and 4) create a fairer tax system. As Vice Chair of the Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection, Tina has fought to ensure that our state laws and regulations prioritize affordability and protect your dignity as a consumer.

Tina is co-convener of the Working Families Caucus, which fights for policies that ensure that working families have the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
